Today, we’re bringing you an exclusive interview with none other than NILL, the talented music producer and DJ from the beautiful island of Malta.
-How did you begin with music and djing?
I have started producing over four years ago and started djing during lockdowns (I’m sure I’m not the first :’))
-Any new releases?
New releases on Magic Island and Alter Ego coming up 😊
-In the studio, what’s your set-up?
Well my studio (bedroom 😉) setup is quite simple! Just Ableton, Spire, Serum and a Midi.
-How has your musical taste evolved over the years?
Well, it hasn’t much really… Whilst I appreciate different styles of music I still have a lot of respect for Trance & Progressive house.
-What is your favorite djing experience?
Opening an event headlined by Paul Van Dyk
-What do you like to do in your spare time?
Listen to new tracks, searching for ones to play at my next gig
-What’s been your biggest challenge as a DJ and music producer?
Politics in the industry, unfortunately
-What advice would you give to another DJ and music producer starting out in their career?
If it’s a DJ – Play at as many events as you can
If it’s a Producer – Only produce music you like, otherwise it will start feeling like a job
