UK breaking artist Alfie Cridland has teamed up with Italian producer LØRD for this club-ready new single ‘Respect’, released via his label home, Perfect Havoc. A bumping tech house track with bouncy tribal vibes, ‘Respect’ shows off Cridland’s more underground style and how effortlessly the producer can switch things up. Following Cridland’s crossover track ‘New Levels’, which saw a whopping 49 spins on BBC Radio 1 and accomplished 30m streams, and for LØRD, coming hot on the heels of big releases on such labels such as Hexagon and Musical Freedom, ‘Respect’ is a tasty little weapon set to ignite dancefloors this summer. Alfie Cridland is making a name for himself, from his commercial house stylings to bold tech house tracks. But as DJ, he’s a selector of all things electronic, R&B and hip hop. Cridland’s clever mash-ups and skillset in cross-genre mixing was why he won over UK bass artist, Nathan Dawe, taking first place in Dawe’s 2017 competition to find the next generation of DJ talent to accompany him on tour.

Cridland’s foray into production began in June 2020 when his debut single on Perfect Havoc, ‘Last Day In Paradise’ alongside Paul Kaye, hit No. 2 on the iTunes Dance Chart. Later that year, he released ‘New Levels’ with Tobtok and Milwin, which was synced numerous times across primetime TV shows in the UK, including Love Island, and – rightly so – was made Tune Of The Week on BBC Radio. His tech house outing ‘It Was All A Dream’ caused quite the wave, too, with its Biggie Smalls sample currying key tastemaker support in ACRAZE, Fedde Le Grand and Sam Divine.

LØRD is the EDM alias of the longstanding Italian artist Luis Rodriguez. Initially keeping his identity under wraps, Rodriguez debuted as LØRD in 2021 and quickly found some of the biggest labels around fighting to sign his work. ‘Afterlife’ was snapped up for Hardwell’s label Gemstone Records, and on Revealed, the big room techno track ‘BOOM’ immediately hit the Beatport Mainstage Hype Top 100 chart.

‘Make Me Feel’ found a home on Stadiumx’s Sub Religion label. LØRD’s 2023 collaboration ‘Power’ with the duo D’Amico & Valax attracted the attention of world-renowned DJ Tiësto for release on Musical Freedom.

With further releases on Spinnin Records and support coming from Martin Garrix, Timmy Trumpet, Nicky Romero and many more, it’s fair to say the LØRD project has gone down a storm.

‘Respect’ is another quality release for Perfect Havoc and the perfect example of the label’s more underground output. Shortlisted for Best Independent Record Label at the 2023 Music Week Awards, Perfect Havoc’s niche of crossover dance alongside club-focused sounds has accumulated over 10 billion global streams and given rise to six UK Top 20 singles and multiple platinum, gold, and silver awards.

Keep an ear out for more Perfect Havoc releases in 2023, with cuts from Ros-T, Tobtok & farfetch’d, James Hurr and Perfect Havoc founder, Adam Griffin.
